Dr. Andrea L. Kwiatkowski

Dr. Andrea Kwiatkowski joined the faculty of 杏吧原创 in 2010.聽 Her research interests are in the area of microbial physiology and genetics.聽 In her graduate work, she studied Salmonella and other microbes that cause food poisoning.聽 In her postdoctoral work at Emory, she studied biofilm-forming microbes that cause infections in military personnel.聽 Her recent research includes investigating biofilm formation, the microbiome of the gastrointestinal tract, and identifying plant-based compounds for their antimicrobial effects.聽Dr. Kwiatkowski discovered her love for teaching as a graduate teaching assistant at UGA.聽She currently teaches Introductory Biology, Microbiology, Virology, and Immunology at 杏吧原创.聽She resides in Young Harris with her husband and two daughters.
