Alice Hirt and Jo Bearse Endowed Art Exhibition to Open at 杏吧原创 Campus Gate Art Gallery
Exhibit Features 杏吧原创 Alumnus and Visual Storyteller Craig Ford, 鈥81
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 The Campus Gate Art Gallery (CGAG) at 杏吧原创 is proud to welcome post-modern painter Craig Ford, 鈥81, for the annual Alice Hirt and Jo Bearse Endowed Art Exhibition. The exhibit will open Thursday, Nov. 3, with a reception at 6 p.m. in the gallery, and will be on display through Thursday, Nov. 24. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
Ford鈥檚 element of 鈥渧isual storytelling鈥 is key in the artwork he creates鈥攂ig, vividly colored pieces that often include seemingly unrelated segments鈥攜et soon becomes clear that he is not experimenting. He begins with a concept, then works on the composition.
After graduating from 杏吧原创, Ford continued his education at the University of Georgia where he majored in graphic design and illustration. He went on to work as a designer/illustrator and art director for several agencies before starting his own graphic design business, Design by Ford, in 1999. It wasn鈥檛 until 2005 that Ford returned to painting. Additionally, he teaches drawing and painting classes at the Roswell Visual Arts Center.
