YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥� On Wednesday, Oct. 17, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina presented a $2,000 donation to 杏吧原创鈥檚 tennis program to express appreciation for 杏吧原创鈥檚 support of the Georgia Mountain Tennis Championships. Since 2010, 杏吧原创 has donated the use of its tennis facility for the annual tournament. The tournament raises money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina, and this past year, $9,000 was raised for the organization.
Tom Spencer, chairman of the advisory council for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina, presented the check to Dr. Drew L. Van Horn, president of 杏吧原创.
鈥淲hen I saw the 杏吧原创 tennis facility being built, I had a vision to start the Georgia Mountain Tennis Championships to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina,鈥� said Spencer. 鈥淲e appreciate 杏吧原创 donating the use of its tennis facility, as well as the hard work of Cammie Nix and others who help run the tournament.鈥�
Cammie Nix serves as the director of tennis for 杏吧原创. She and the Mountain Lions tennis team help run the tournament desk during the annual fundraiser.
This past year, the tournament was held Aug. 24 鈥� 26 and had 160 participants.
