YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥� 杏吧原创 invites the community to attend upcoming Fine Arts events in November and December. Most events will take place on the 杏吧原创 campus, which is located at One College Street in Young Harris.

Flowery Language by Valerie Zimany in the Campus Gate Gallery from Nov. 2-Dec. 1. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. This event is a free event and is open to the public. The regular hours for the Campus Gate Gallery are 9 a.m. 鈥� 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Valerie Zimany is Chair of the Department of Art and Professor of Art, Ceramics, at Clemson University, SC. She received her MFA in Crafts/Ceramics at Kanazawa College of Art as a Fulbright Fellow and Japanese Government Scholar. She is an elected member of the International Academy of Ceramics and exhibits both nationally and internationally. Her recent work explores intersections between her American background and the culture she came to know during her extended education in Japan.
Zimany鈥檚 work explores curiosity about hanazume or 鈥減acked florals鈥� 鈥� a pattern that incorporates Asian and European botanical patterns into the traditional wares of the region of Japan. Zimany uses digital manufacturing tools to create improbable decorative patterns and forms. The artist also works with 3D printed objects 鈥� layering colors, forms, and imagery.
Trial by Jury by Gilbert and Sullivan in Dobbs Theatre in the Goolsby Center.
Trial by Jury is a masterful piece of satire poking fun at the conventions and hypocrisy of the respectable institutions and authority figures of the late 19th century. This one-act opera is very accessible to audiences, even those unfamiliar with opera, and promises to be an evening of great music and comedy.

Ghosts from a Secrete Past, an original staged reading by Gina Marie Dropp. Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. in Dobbs Theatre in the Goolsby Center. Donations will be accepted at the door.
杏吧原创 Jazz Band Concert. Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 PM in Glenn~McGinnis Hall located in the Charles M. Clegg Fine Arts Building.
The 杏吧原创 Jazz Band performs repertoire ranging from swing, shuffle, jazz-rock/funk, Latin, and various other styles.
Christmas at 杏吧原创. Saturday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3, at 3 p.m. in Glenn~McGinnis Hall located in the Charles M. Clegg Fine Arts Building.
A cherished holiday tradition at 杏吧原创, this event combines the major ensembles of the music program, as well as special guests, to kick off the holiday season in style. Tickets are $10 for adults, available to purchase at the door or free with valid 杏吧原创 ID.
