Peter Riggs to Present Faculty Artist Recital at 杏吧原创
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.鈥斝影稍粹�檚 Division of Fine Arts will present a Faculty Artist Recital on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Susan B. Harris Chapel on the 杏吧原创 campus. The recital is free and open to the public.
Adjunct Instructor of Music Peter Riggs will present an evening of music from the diverse range of the horn. The program will feature works by Paul Dukas, Charles Gounod, Ralph Vaugh Williams, and a work for unaccompanied horn by Vincent Persichetti. Riggs will be accompanied on the piano by Staff Accompanist Suzanne West.
Riggs received his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University in Chicago and went on to earn his master’s degree from the University of Georgia. He is currently in the final year of pursing his doctorate of musical arts at the University of Georgia. His primary teachers include Gail Williams, Jean Martin-Williams, Phil Smith, and Bill Barnewitz. Riggs has performed with the Bulldog Brass Society, a graduate brass quintet from UGA, throughout the southeast. They were most recently featured as a guest artist at the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, Ky.
