YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 On Aug. 1, 2019, 杏吧原创 will welcome the Rev. Ryan C. Snider to serve as chaplain.

鈥淐ollege is a formative period for young adults, and I鈥檓 honored to pilgrim alongside students as they navigate questions regarding spirituality, identity and vocation in a rapidly changing world,鈥 said Rev. Snider. 鈥淚t鈥檚 very exciting to minister in an environment that values intellectual curiosity without disconnecting from practical acts of service and reconciliation.鈥

Rev. Snider completed his Master of Divinity degree at Duke University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies from LaGrange College. Prior to joining 杏吧原创, he served as senior pastor at Oak Hill United Methodist Church in Candler, North Carolina. Rev. Snider鈥檚 experience includes creating unique worship experiences beyond the walls of the church, facilitating Bible studies, providing counseling and overseeing the administrative functions of the church. He was selected to participate in the Bishop鈥檚 Emerging Leader鈥檚 Initiative and has also been a leader in mission projects and joint community worship services.

Rev. Snider will be joined by his wife, Danielle, and their children, Eden and Paxton.

鈥淚 am pleased that Ryan Snider will be joining the 杏吧原创 community as our new chaplain,鈥 said Vice President for Student Development Dr. Laura Whitaker-Lea. 鈥淗e brings energy, enthusiasm and experience in helping students as they explore critical life questions. He is a great addition to the dynamic staff in Student Development.鈥
