YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 Are you hopeful or skeptical about life beyond Earth? If so, swing on by the O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium, Feb. 28, to hear the experts talk about it and make up your mind for yourself. You鈥檒l also help support scholarship efforts for 杏吧原创 students.

Space Aliens: Looking for Life in the Universe: Friday, Feb. 28 鈥 7 & 8 p.m.

Alien 鈥渆xperts鈥 鈥 hopeful and skeptical 鈥 as they try to convince each other whether or not life exists beyond the Earth. Follow the astrobiology arguments from the ocean floor to a journey across the galaxy.

They鈥檒l discuss what alien life might look like on other worlds, the planetary conditions needed for life to evolve and the different exoplanetary systems that might make good candidates for extraterrestrial life.

鈥淧roceeds from this show will support scholarships for 杏吧原创 students participating in the 鈥楳arvels of Peru: Science at the Equator鈥 study away trip in May 2024,鈥 said Lauren Albin, Planetarium director. 鈥淵our contribution will help make this incredible opportunity possible!鈥

The O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium features shows for the general public on select Friday evenings. Tickets for shows can be purchased at the door with cash or check. Tickets can also be purchased online via Eventbrite.

Purchasing tickets online in advance is recommended since planetarium shows often sell out. Observatory open houses do not require tickets. Guests are encouraged to arrive early for best seats. Public planetarium shows, with the exception of Cosmic Concerts, include a live-narrated 鈥渟eason stargazing鈥 segment in addition to the featured full-dome program.

Tickets can be purchased online in advance by clicking on the show dates below. Any remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the door 30 minutes prior to showtime.
