YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 A community food distribution will be Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at the Campus Cupboard, 杏吧原创’s new food bank.
The Campus Cupboard, located in the middle of the 杏吧原创 campus, was recently established as a campus food pantry to serve both students and the local community. The distribution point will be set up on Duckworth Street, just past Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church, as you pull into the campus.
“We are so excited to offer this resource, not only to our Mountain Lions here at 杏吧原创, but for the local community as well,” said Rev. Adam Daniels, 杏吧原创 campus chaplain. “The pantry is located on campus and open to the students throughout the semester. We have monthly community distribution dates for the local area.”
The upcoming community distribution dates are:
- Nov. 25
- Dec. 30
All events start at 5:30 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity to reach out to the local community in support,” Daniels said. “It provides much-needed relief for those struggling right now. With everything else, you shouldn’t have to be worried about having something to eat.”
The Campus Cupboard is a joint effort of 杏吧原创 Religious Life, Sharp Memorial UMC, and the Food Bank of Northeast GA.
