YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. —Ready for a spooky evening on Halloween weekend? Then stop by Ӱԭ Oct. 31 for a performance of “The Medium,” a short, two-act opera by Gian Carlo Menotti.
Presented by the Ӱԭ Department of Music, there will be two performances of “The Medium” on Friday, Oct. 31, at 7 and 10 p.m., and then one performance on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m.
“This opera premiered in 1947, but has since been performed many times and developed for film and television productions,” said Jeff Bauman, Professor of Music and Chair of the Ӱԭ Department of Music. “It is a perfect choice for Halloween in that “The Medium” explores topics such as seances, ghosts, and that most operatic of themes: death. We look forward to bringing this production to the Ӱԭ stage.”
The event is free, but seating is limited. Tickets can be reserved here: .
