YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥�听Ready for a spooky evening on Halloween weekend? Then stop by 杏吧原创 Oct. 31 for a performance of 鈥淭he Medium,鈥� a short, two-act opera by Gian Carlo Menotti.听
Presented by the 杏吧原创 Department of Music, there will be two performances of “The Medium” on Friday, Oct. 31, at 7 and 10 p.m., and then one performance on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 3 p.m.听
鈥淭his opera premiered in 1947, but has since been performed many times and developed for film and television productions,鈥� said Jeff Bauman, Professor of Music and Chair of the 杏吧原创 Department of Music. 鈥淚t is a perfect choice for Halloween in that 鈥淭he Medium鈥� explores topics such as seances, ghosts, and that most operatic of themes: death. We look forward to bringing this production to the 杏吧原创 stage.鈥�听
