YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ is hosting a free community egg hunt on March 28.
The inaugural Egg-chanted Valley Egg Huntis open to the Young Harris and surrounding community. Beginning at noon, the egg hunt will be divided into two age categories: 6 years old and below, and 7 years old and older. The egg hunters will be challenged to find eggs hidden across the beautiful ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ campus.
“We will have a lot of activities set up for the day,” said Emma Parks, ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ student and member of the Gamma Psi sorority, which is organizing the event. “We’ll have potato sack races and egg and spoon races. Food trucks will be set up on campus as well. Our mascots, Luke and June, will be there, too!”
The Egg-chanted Valley Egg Hunt will be a great excuse to be on ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´’s campus. Following the egg hunt and other activities, the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Climbing Tower will open at 2, and anyone attending the egg hunt will also get free admission to any of the sporting events going on that day on campus.
“Guests simply need to take the event brochure to whatever sporting event they choose, and they get in free,” Parks said.
Several ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Mountain Lion teams will be in action that day:
- Baseball vs. King University: 1 p.m., Zell B. Miller Field
- Softball vs. King University: 1 p.m., ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Softball Field
- Men’s Lacrosse vs. Lees-McRae: 1 p.m., ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Soccer & Lacrosse Field
- Men’s and Women’s Tennis vs. Francis Marion University: 2 p.m., Bob and Gayle Tennis Complex
- Softball vs. King University: 3:30 p.m., ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Softball Field
- Baseball vs. King University: 4 p.m., Zell B. Miller Field
“It’s a great opportunity for families to have fun together here at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´,” Parks said. “We’re looking forward to a great event, and a great day here in the Egg-chanted Valley!”
The Egg-chanted Valley Egg Hunt will be held rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved into the Rollins Campus Center.
