YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥� 杏吧原创 senior Shelby Lawrence of Eatonton, Ga., won first place in a competition to design the new logo for the Towns County Conventions and Visitors Bureau (TCCVB). Lawrence presented her winning design at the Towns County Commissioner鈥檚 meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Lawrence鈥檚 logo depicts a purple sunset within the shape of Towns County. Three bears sit above the Towns County outline.
鈥淚 had a lot of fun creating this work,鈥� said Lawrence. 鈥淚 feel it truly showcases the beauty of the land around us here. I鈥檓 so proud that people love it as much as I do, and I can鈥檛 wait to see where it鈥檚 featured.鈥�
Students in a branding class offered by 杏吧原创 were asked to work alongside the Towns County Conventions and Visitors Bureau on a new logo to represent the communities of Young Harris and Hiawassee, Ga. The TCCVB committee members reviewed the 46 logos entered into the competition and selected Lawrence鈥檚 as their favorite. 杏吧原创鈥檚 Director of Conference and Event Services Hayley Burch, who serves on the TCCVB board,聽oversaw the process.
鈥淚t is very encouraging to see so much talent in our young people. The country has a bright future,鈥� said Towns County Commissioner Cliff Bradshaw. 鈥淭owns County is very fortunate to have 杏吧原创, which affords us the opportunity to benefit from the talent of those young people.鈥�
