YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 On the advice of the 杏吧原创 Pandemic Recovery Task Force, 杏吧原创 President Dr. Drew Van Horn has announced that 杏吧原创 is planning to return to fully in-person classes beginning in the fall 2021 semester.
鈥淧ositive cases of COVID-19 continue to fall in our area and among the members of the 杏吧原创 community,鈥 said Dr. Van Horn. 鈥淭his, combined with increasing vaccine availability, makes us confident that we will be able to return to fully in-person classes on campus this fall.鈥
On Thursday, March 25, staff and volunteers from Synergy Health in Hiawassee, Georgia, offered the first of multiple COVID-19 vaccine clinics for students, faculty, staff and community members in the 杏吧原创 Recreation & Fitness Center. Vaccines were available to all eligible recipients free of charge.
The College will not be requiring students or employees to be vaccinated before returning this fall, unless required to do so by state or federal regulations, but all members of the campus community are strongly encouraged to get the vaccine if they are able to.
鈥淭his year has been exhausting for all of us,鈥 said Dr. Van Horn, 鈥渂ut we appear to be turning a corner. I look forward to seeing everyone back in the Enchanted Valley this August.鈥
