杏吧原创 Hosts Scholarship Luncheon to Thank Donors

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 杏吧原创 hosted its Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Friday, April 21. This event is designed to honor both scholarship donors and student recipients in a celebration of education, inspiration, and empowerment. Donors were recognized for their contributions to the lives of so many 杏吧原创 students.

Scholarship donors and student recipients were welcomed by the Vice President of Advancement, Mark Dotson, Class of 1988, and led in a moment of gratitude by Reverend Dr. Adam Daniels. During lunch, donors were able to connect personally with the students they support. Scholarship recipients were able to share their stories, aspirations, and thanks with their donors.

President Drew Van Horn introduced the program, which showcased the Fine Arts talents of Isaiah Willock, Class of 2025, a Musical Theatre major, and Emma Pullium, who will graduate in May 2023 with her BA in Music. These students, along with Student Speaker, Karah Shea, have each benefitted tremendously from the generosity of 杏吧原创鈥檚 donors. Karah, Class of 2023, is earning her BA in Art and Graphic Design, with a minor in Outdoor Studies. She reflected on her time in the Enchanted Valley, thanking the donors who made her experiences and education possible.

Alumni Speaker John Sillay, Class of 1975, emphasized the importance of investing in the next generation of leaders. As President of the Alumni Association Board, he encouraged alumni to continue the tradition of generosity by giving back to current students. Special Guest Dr. Louisa Franklin, Professor Emerita, was also recognized for her commitment to 杏吧原创 during the past 40 years. She communicated the role of the College community in helping students receive the best education possible.

鈥淭his is one of the best events we have on campus every year, one of my favorites,鈥 said Dotson. 鈥淚t is always special when our students have the opportunity to meet and get to know their scholarship donors. We want to thank everyone who attended: our student speakers, performers, and guest speakers. I鈥檓 already looking forward to next year鈥檚 luncheon.鈥

The Scholarship Luncheon highlights the generosity of 杏吧原创 donors and provides a special afternoon for donors and scholarship recipients to connect. Events like the Scholarship Luncheon are also opportunities for members of the 杏吧原创 community to recognize each other’s contributions and express a spirit of gratitude.
