杏吧原创 to Present Annual Valentine鈥檚 Day Cabaret

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 杏吧原创鈥檚 Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society will present the fifth annual 鈥淯nlucky in Love鈥 Valentine鈥檚 Day Cabaret fundraiser on Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. in Suber Banquet Hall in the Rollins Campus Center on the 杏吧原创 Campus. Admission is $12 a ticket, or $20 per couple.

This event features talented students performing a variety of short musical and dramatic bits related to the themes of love and heartbreak.

鈥淚 have been a part of the Valentine鈥檚 Day Cabaret for the past three years,鈥 said junior theatre major Bakari Garvin, of Atlanta, Ga., who will serve as the Master of Ceremonies alongside the show鈥檚 director. 鈥淭he special thing about the Cabaret is that all of the numbers are chosen by the performers, so everyone has a special tie to their performance because it is theirs instead of auditioning and then being told what to do!鈥

The performance will include a wide range of numbers from a variety of Broadway musicals like 鈥淐hicago,鈥 鈥淪unset Boulevard,鈥 and 鈥淭he Addams Family,鈥 as well as covers from artists like Adele and Ed Sheeran.

鈥淭he best thing about being a part of the Valentine’s Day Cabaret is being able to perform anything as long as it relates to the theme 鈥楿nlucky in Love鈥,鈥 said senior musical theatre major Kristin Talley, of Lawrenceville, Ga.  鈥淭his year, I am going to be performing a dance tribute to my grandmother who passed away in October of 2017. It is sure to be a great show and I can鈥檛 wait to see how the turn out will be this year!鈥

All donations collected will benefit the Division of Fine Arts and help fund students鈥 travel expenses for conferences, competitions, and auditions.
