杏吧原创 to Present Guitar Ensemble
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 The 杏吧原创 Guitar Ensemble will present a concert on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall on the 杏吧原创 campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Chair of the Music Department and Associate Professor of Music Richard Knepp, D.M.A, the performance will feature an Appalachian-influenced program. The ensemble will perform guitar trio and guitar quartet arrangements of traditional Irish, Scottish, and Appalachian folk songs, such as 鈥淗ush You Bey,鈥 鈥淭he Road to Lisdoonvarna,鈥 and 鈥淭he Ash Grove.鈥 The concert will also feature senior music major Caleb Biddy, of Douglasville, Ga., who will perform a solo arrangement of 鈥淲ild Mountain Thyme鈥 and sophomore music major Moon Hamilton, of Atlanta, Ga., who will perform a solo arrangement of 鈥淭he Skye Boat Song.鈥
In addition to Biddy and Moon, the 杏吧原创 guitar ensemble is comprised of talented students including senior music major Charles Meggitt, of Cleveland, Ga., sophomore music major Paul Whaley, Bainbridge, Ga., freshman biology major Dinara McMichael, of Newnan, Ga., and junior English major Alejandro Lemus-Gomez, of Young Harris, Ga.
