杏吧原创 to Present Jazz Band Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 杏吧原创鈥檚 Division of Fine Arts will present the 杏吧原创 Jazz Band in concert on Monday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in the Rollins Campus Center on the 杏吧原创 campus. The performance is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Adjunct Instructor of Music Dr. Mike Campbell, the 杏吧原创 Jazz Band will perform jazz favorites and a variety musical styles including swing, Latin, ballads, fusion, and funk.
Featured soloists include freshman music major David Smith, of Fairburn, Ga., saxophone, junior music major Charles Meggitt, of Cleveland, Ga., trumpet, sophomore music education major Donovan Anguelo, of Blairsville, Ga., trumpet, freshman music education major Justin Mason, of Fairburn, Ga., trombone, junior music education major Kate Snell, of Elko, Ga., piano, and senior music major Tricia Gallagher, of Jasper, Ga., drum.
Other students performing include senior psychology major Adam Shelp, of Dawsonville, Ga., saxophone, junior music major Michelle Queen, of Jasper, Ga., saxophone, senior music major Jasmine Redding, of Atlanta, Ga., saxophone, freshman biology major Drew Schottoefer, of Sharpsburg, Ga., saxophone, freshman music education major Jake Damera, of Sautee Nacoochee, Ga., trombone, freshman music majors Paul Williams, of Ludowici, Ga., trombone, Riley McClure, of Ellijay, Ga., trombone, junior music major Nolan Walker, of Ellijay, Ga., trumpet, sophomore music major Colin McCane, of Cleveland, Ga., trumpet, and senior business and public policy major Chloe Cook, of Blue Ridge, Ga., bass.
In addition, guest band 鈥淪wing Set鈥 will perform several selections during the concert.
