杏吧原创 to Present Jazz Band Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 杏吧原创鈥檚 Division of Fine Arts will present the 杏吧原创 Jazz Band in concert on Monday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in Glenn Auditorium of the Clegg Fine Arts Building on the 杏吧原创 campus. The performance is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Adjunct Instructor of Music Dr. Mike Campbell, the 杏吧原创 Jazz Band will perform a variety of jazz favorites including 鈥淢y Funny Valentine鈥 by Richard Rogers, 鈥淪atin Doll鈥 by Duke Ellington and 鈥淔ront Burner鈥 by Sammy Nestico.
Featured soloists include senior music major Courtland Walters, saxophone, of Stockbridge, Ga., during 鈥淐ritical Mass,鈥 鈥淗arlem Nocturne,鈥 鈥淪atin Doll,鈥 鈥淧ennsylvania 6-5000,鈥 鈥淐hameleon鈥 and 鈥淨uiet Rain,鈥 junior music major Chloe Cook, saxophone, of Blue Ridge, Ga., during 鈥淟ucretia Mac Evil,鈥 sophomore music major Charles Meggitt, trumpet, of Cleveland, Ga., during 鈥淪atin Doll鈥 and 鈥淟ucretia Mac Evil,鈥 sophomore music major Kate Snell, piano, of Elko, Ga., during 鈥淪atin Doll鈥 and 鈥淎ll of Me,鈥 freshman music major Collin McCane, trumpet, of Cleveland, Ga., during 鈥淎 Child is Born,鈥 and freshman music major Justin Mason, trombone, of Fairburn, Ga., during 鈥淐hameleon.鈥
In addition to the soloists, the Jazz Band is also comprised of junior psychology major Adam Shelp, saxophone, of Dawsonville, Ga., sophomore music major Blake Cornell, saxophone, of Ellijay, Ga., junior music major Michelle Queen, saxophone, of Jasper, Ga., junior music major Jasmine Redding, saxophone, of Atlanta, Ga., junior music major Nolan Walker, trumpet, of Ellijay, Ga., freshman music education major Donovan Anguelo, trumpet, of Blairsville, Ga., senior music major Marshall Scoggins, Bass, of LaFayette, Ga., and sophomore music major Tricia Gallagher, drums, of Jasper, Ga.
