杏吧原创 to Present Percussion Ensemble Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥撔影稍粹檚 Division of Fine Arts will present a concert featuring the Percussion Ensemble on Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the Susan B. Harris Chapel on the 杏吧原创 campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Adjunct Instructor of Percussion Dr. Jillian Baxter, the ensemble will feature six talented students including senior music education major Nathaniel Arnold, of Young Harris, Ga., senior music major Patricia Gallagher, of Jasper, Ga., freshman music major Moon Hamilton, of Atlanta, Ga., freshman business and public policy major Cara Huffstuttler, of Dickson, Tenn., freshman music education majors Kirkland Godfrey, Blue Ridge, Ga., and Zachary Sutton, of Alto, Ga.
The group will perform a variety of solo and ensemble pieces with sounds from the snare drum, marimba, vibraphone, timpani and keyboard. Selections from the evening will include music by composers such as John S. Pratt, David Friedman, Mitchell Peters and Ney Rosauro.
