杏吧原创 Presents Chamber Winds Concert
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. 鈥 The Division of Fine Arts at 杏吧原创 is pleased to present the 杏吧原创 Chamber Wind Ensemble in concert on Monday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Glenn~McGinnis Hall of the Clegg Fine Arts Building on the 杏吧原创 campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
The 杏吧原创 chamber ensembles performing will include the 杏吧原创 Woodwind Trio, the 杏吧原创 Saxophone Ensemble and the 杏吧原创 Brass choir. Each ensemble consists of talented 杏吧原创 students studying music.
The Woodwind Trio is composed of senior interdisciplinary major Savannah Rogers, of Cleveland, Ga., flute, senior music major Melanie Ellis, of Hawkinsville, Ga., clarinet, and junior music education major Idriya Moore, of McCaysville, Ga., oboe. The group will be performing Johannes Brahms鈥 鈥淗ungarian Dance No. 5.鈥 The Woodwind Trio will also feature a special clarinet quartet piece by senior music major Melanie Ellis, of Hawkinsville, Ga., and freshman music education majors Shane Schroeder, of Hazlehurst, Ga., Lindsey Hutchinson, of Sautee Nacoochee, Ga., and Shiloh Brooks, of Cumming, Ga., performing 鈥淧relude to La Traviata鈥 by Verdi.
Sophomore music education major Miranda Queen, of Jasper, Ga., freshman music education majors Chloe Spears, of Hiawassee, Ga., and Amber Vickroy, of Athens, Ga., and sophomore music major David-akem Smith, of Fairburn, Ga., will be performing Mozart鈥檚 鈥淓ine kleine Nachtmusik Serenade.鈥
The concert will continue with the 杏吧原创 Saxophone Ensemble performing an arrangement of the J. S. Bach 鈥淔ugue in G.鈥 In addition to Smith, the 杏吧原创 Saxophone Ensemble includes sophomore music education major Christian Dasher, of Ludowici, Ga., freshman music major Tyler Kniess, of Blairsville, Ga., and Young Harris Early College student Anthony Grader, of Blairsville, Ga.
The 杏吧原创 Brass Choir will conclude the concert with the Di Lorenzo composition 鈥淟uminosity鈥. The brass choir members include senior history major Wesley Martin, of Clarkesville, Ga., senior music major Charles Meggitt, of Cleveland, Ga., junior music major Collin McCane, of Cleveland, Ga., junior music education majors Donovan Anguelo, of Blairsville, Ga., Hayden Betsill, of White, Ga., and Justin Mason, of Fairburn, Ga., sophomore music majors Jacob Hartis, of Sylvania, Ga., and Chris Heden, of East Ellijay, Ga., sophomore music education majors Keegan McCurdy, of Ellijay, Ga., Paul Williams, of Ludowici, Ga., and Jacob Wood, of Dahlonega, Ga., freshman chemistry major Colton Pritchett, of Ringgold, Ga., and freshman music majors Deanna Greene, of Epworth, Ga., and Matthew Minnick, of Maysville, Ga.
