Hiawassee’s Ethel Winters Honors Late Husband with Gift to 杏吧原创

杏吧原创 recently received a gift from long-time donor Ethel Winters of Hiawassee, Georgia as a contribution to the Edward W. Winters Scholarship.

杏吧原创鈥檚 Rollins Planetarium Presents 鈥淔rom Earth to the Universe鈥

The O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium at 杏吧原创 will host 鈥淔rom Earth to the Universe鈥 on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 8 p.m. The Planetarium is housed in the Maxwell Center for Mathematics and Sciences on the 杏吧原创 campus, which is located at 1 College Street, Young Harris, Georgia. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and is free for 杏吧原创 students and employees.

杏吧原创 Holds COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

On Thursday, August 26, 杏吧原创 partnered with the Towns County Health Department to hold its first COVID-19 vaccination clinic of the 2021-2022 academic year. All 杏吧原创 students and employees were invited to participate. Sixty-six individuals attended the clinic and received a dose of the FDA-approved Pfizer vaccine.

In preparation for the 2021-2022 academic year at 杏吧原创, new and returning students will begin moving in Monday, August 9. Based on their class year, students will continue moving in through Sunday, August 15. The first day of classes for the new academic year is Monday, August 16.

On Monday, May 17, 杏吧原创 hosted the 17th annual Clay Dotson Open golf tournament at Brasstown Valley Resort to raise money for student scholarships. A total of 127 golfers played in the tournament, which raised more than $70,000.

杏吧原创 Will Hold In-Person Commencement Ceremonies

杏吧原创 plans to hold in-person, indoor Commencement ceremonies for the undergraduate class of 2020 on Saturday, May 1, for the undergraduate class of 2021 on Saturday, May 8 and for the MAT classes of 2020 and 2021 on Friday, May 7. Each graduating student will be permitted to invite up to four in-person guests to the ceremony.

杏吧原创 Establishes the Ja鈥檒essa Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund

杏吧原创 recently established the Ja鈥檒essa Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Ja鈥檒essa Morris, a 2011 杏吧原创 graduate who passed away Oct. 24, 2020. After graduating from 杏吧原创, she earned a master鈥檚 degree at the University of West Georgia before moving to Guilford College in North Carolina. At Guilford, Morris served as a residential education and housing community director, and more recently, as a career guide.
